This week was VBS at our church.
It was AWESOME!
Several people put in tireless hours of preparing and it all came together and we got to see it in action this week.
I hope all the kids learned that God is their
Creator
Provider
Protector
Savior
King
and that they had fun doing it!
One of my favorite parts - although I loved all of it - was that we had live worship.
So much energy and fun.
Everyone on that stage is uber talented and I'm so thankful they chose to use their talents for VBS this week!
It was a Jungle Safari theme.
Someone brought in these vehicles (I know they have a name - I don't know what it is) for the kids to have photo ops.
And see that lizard back there? My friend Janel is a genius at decorating and had such vision for all of the decorations for this VBS and there were 5 of those animals along the front of the church that she and some other ladies painted. Over the top I'm telling you!! That was just a smidgeon of how this church was transformed into a jungle at her creative hands!
And I was with these ladies all week in the preschool Bible story time.
Loved working with them and learning from them.
I think Cooper the dog was a hit!
On Saturday, I decided to take the kids out and just do something fun all day.
I have stacks of clothes to iron, my bathroom is nasty, and no Saturday jobs were even attempted, but we all needed a day to just relax.
So we went to the mall where they were having this cool Nintendo World exhibit all weekend.
The main attraction was the Mario Kart Tournament.
I actually didn't realize it was a tournament until the boys finished playing once and the lady in charge told Elliott he got to move up to the semifinals.
So cool! He was very excited. He and this other girl were about the same age and must have had about the same skills. They talked and laughed throughout the tournament.
So as soon as Ethan realized Elliott made it to the next level and he didn't, he was right back in line to try again. Competitive streak? I think it runs in his blood.
This time he made it to the next level, but all the boys that he was competing against talked like they played this all the time - and played like they played it all the time. Needless to say, this was as far as he got, but he had such a fun time doing it.
The rest of the time we watched Elliott compete in the Finals.
Although he really didn't have a chance at this either.
We never play Mario Kart anymore, so he was totally out of practice.
Add that to the fact that two of the other competitors played it all the time.
He was an awesome sport and gave it his all and had so much fun!
And I purchased this and can't wait to use it.
I want so badly to have time to work on scrapbook pages.
I've totally given up on paper and scissors and glue and find it so much easier to sit down for an hour at the computer and get a page or two done. Love it.
Just haven't had much free time lately.
But this was on sale this week and I know they will be put to good use in the coming months
You can find them here if you're interested.
And we ended the week being goofy. Love them!
It is tax-free weekend here in MO so we made a few back-to-school purchases at stores where we knew there would be good deals.
Elliott wanted these hats and bought them with his money.
Ethan came home with a bobble head signed by Mike Matheny.
And I somehow ended up with 2 pairs of tennis shoes for the boys, one pair for me and a pair of flats for $60.
I would say it was a good shopping day.
Oh yeah, Brian got nothing. He was a little annoyed. We told him someone had to work so that we could shop - ha!
Hope your week was as fun as ours!
