a photo for friday

Brian calls this look something like "Sith Lord Contemplates Dinner".
I call it "Boy Complains About Dinner Again"
At least he ate his carrots.
And now he is saying he doesn't feel good.
He even gave up playing XBOX with a friend.
So now I'm a bit worried.

Project Life: Week 3

Week three.

I like this one the best so far, I think.
I'm beginning to wonder if I will get tired of using mainly this Seafoam kit, but I'm definitely still liking it.  I like that it's pretty neutral so that you can add other things in.  And I'm learning more and more each week so things are beginning to go faster and I feel like I can do more creative things.

Week 3, left side
When I first started doing this week I was disappointed that I didn't have a lot of photos again.  But when I started plugging them in, I realized that it was really just the right amount to have a good amount of journaling also.

Week 3, right side:
I got a new template from Jessica Sprague's site this past weekend while they were on sale - love that!! I chose this one because it accommodates instagrams really well.  I thought I would go ahead and try it out since I had a few of those beloved squares for this week, and I like how it turned out.

I feel like I'm getting into a groove with this and hoping that will continue.  Life is getting pretty busy for us - when is it not, really?  I find it difficult to carve out time to do this, but I do because I am just really enjoying it.  I love that it's an instant gratification item also.  I can share with you as soon as I finish!

Project Life: Week 2

Week Two!

Week 2 left side:
All of the pictures on this side were from the day we spent at my Uncle Bruce's and Aunt Jane's.  We were all finally able to get together to celebrate Christmas (well, almost everyone - it's hard to get everyone together anymore!).

Week 2, right side:
And all of these pictures were from the weekend also.  And mostly from my grandma's 90th birthday celebration.  And the journal card on the right side does not look like that in real life.  Sometimes there are things that you just don't want to share with the world wide web.  This was one of them.  That just made you incredibly curious, didn't it?

Project Life: Week 1

I know I mentioned earlier that I was going to try to do Project Life digitally this year, so I wanted to share what I have so far.

I'm not sure if I will share each layout or not, but hopefully these will show up well on the monitor and you can get a glimpse at what we've been doing.

Honestly I think I enjoy this more than the traditional paper and glue scrapping.  It's so much easier for me to find what I want to use and I can re-use things over and over again.  I've had so much fun doing this and hope to get better as the year goes on.

This is Week One.
For some reason I didn't have a lot of photos for this week.  I've noticed that some weeks have very little photos as I've been doing this.  I need to get the camera out more and be more intentional I guess.  Although that can be a blessing and a curse because the more pictures I have, the more time it takes to upload them and organize and edit.  Maybe I'm fine with just a few pictures :)

basketball

Basketball is in full swing for us.
I think this is my favorite sport that they play.  So much fun to watch,
and they both really enjoy it.  I hope they keep playing.
Plus it doesn't involve sitting out in the rain, cold, wind or heat - ever.

Elliott's strength seems to be defense.
Ethan's strength seems to be offense.
You can imagine how much fun they have when they play
each other in the driveway!

I know the pictures are pretty grainy.  The lighting in the gym could be better, so I have to bump the ISO up on my camera.  It's an older camera and doesn't like it's ISO to be bumped.  So it gives me grain instead.  I have a new one coming and I'm hoping it makes a huge difference - so excited!

snow visitors

It hasn't been all sunshine and warm weather here in January - although that would be so nice.
We've had a couple of snows now.  Not really much but I still love seeing it come down.
It always seems so quiet when it's snowing.  Peaceful.

We weren't really expecting snow this day, but these birds showed up on our deck while we
were eating breakfast before the snow started.  We had never seen them before and thought
it was strange that all of a sudden they were here.  There were several of them, too.
Brian commented that maybe they knew something we didn't.
That always makes me nervous because of all the issues we have with birds nesting
on our deck, front door wreath, wherever they want that is very inconvenient for us.
I left for the morning and came back to a snowy afternoon and found the birds on the deck again.
Seemed like they were really enjoying it, and they were so pretty against the white background.
Does anyone know what kind they are?

enjoying the sunshine

We've had a few days in January where it was in the 60s and 70s!
Of course we took advantage of them and got outside and put some sunshine on our faces!

I think this basketball goal was the best idea we've ever had.  Well, it was Brian's idea actually, and
I wasn't too sure about it.  But the boys use it all the time, and their neighbor friends are over enjoying
it often, too.  Yes, Brian, I was wrong.  Mark it down.  It will be the only time :)
